The water ingress stemmed from both surface runoff and subsurface water flowing downhill from the back and side yards of adjacent properties. Without sufficient drainage to intercept this incoming water, it was forced to travel underneath the house, leading to serious issues.

Implementing a Reliable Drainage Solution

CS Plumbing crafted and installed a gravity-fed French drain system designed to capture and redirect water before it could infiltrate the home’s foundation.

The project included several essential components:

A French drain system specifically designed to gather both surface and subsurface water from neighbouring properties, channeling it through gravity to a concrete pit.
A 100mm PVC pipe leading from the pit to the curb, equipped with meticulously drilled holes for optimal water discharge.
Three new, larger-diameter Colorbond metal downpipes replacing the original smaller ones, connected to new 100mm PVC piping directing water to the curb.
A robust retaining wall system built along the boundary using concrete sleepers and galvanised steel posts, with auger holes drilled by an excavator to form a solid barrier that prevents water from the adjacent yard.
Efficient soil removal conducted on-site with a dumper for effective site management.
